McDove 8-1 Morning Line

The morning line is out for Sunday’s $50,000 Boeing Stakes and McDove is listed at 8-1. There are four horses with lower morning line odds, including 5-2 favorite Profound Moment, and there are four horses with higher morning lines.

So McDove is right in he middle, which sounds about right to me.

The Boeing Stakes is Race 7 but note post time is now 4:41 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than was listed yesterday.

Here is the field for the Boeing Stakes: 1-Princess Katie, Amadeo Perez, 119 lbs, 6-1; 2-Citizen Kitty, Julien Couton, 123, 3-1; 3-My Heart Goes On, Eswan Flores, 119; 15-1; 4-Profound Moment, Javier Matias, 123, 5-2; 5-Pyscho Sister, Kevin Krigger, 117, 7-2; 6-Princess Kennedy, Rocco Bowen, 119, 10-1; 7-B C Z Middleton, Jose Zunino, 119, 15-1; 8-Protective Shield, Juan Gutierrez, 119, 12-1; 9-McDove, Kevin Orozco, 117, 8-1.

Track announcer Matt Dinerman and myself will post our handicapping thoughts on the race Saturday.

Emerald Racing Club has a special priority seating section: Section 19 on the 3rd floor. This section has 180 seats with 23 handicap seats at the top. You do not need tickets, just your lanyards. The ushers will be instructed to seat only those with lanyards and their guests. We also have free admissions for Emerald Racing Club guests at will call.

  1. The Facebook page for Emerald Downs has shared a link to free PPs for races 5 through 8 tomorrow, July 16th (these are very informative):

We have four $50,000 Stakes Races Sunday plus the food truck festival and the equine art show continues. Our friends at Brisnet have provided FREE past performances! This will help you prepare for the 50 cent “All Stakes Pick 4.” Post time Sunday is 2pm.

  2. Hi Vince, After reviewing the race we have a bunch of sprinters and four that want the lead. If McDove is rated behind the speed She may get to pass some tiring horses at the top of the stretch run and hit the board.
