The details of the program:
The Emerald Racing Club will acquire a racehorse privately or via claim for the 2016 racing season. The horse will be trained by Emerald Downs’ trainers Larry and Sharon Ross. Their other notable runners include 2013 Washington Hall of Fame inductee Military Hawk and 2014/2015 Longacres Mile winner Stryker Phd.
Updates will be posted here weekly and via email so you can follow your racehorse. While your Club membership is only $500, monthly financials will be shared with the group to provide a transparent and behind-the-scenes look into the real costs of owning a racehorse. All aspects of racehorse ownership will be explained from acquiring a horse, to finding the right trainer, to preparing for it’s first race, and hopefully, getting to the Winner’s Circle.
Racehorse costs can be prohibitive to many new owners. This is a way for you to get your toes wet without taking a major financial plunge into the proverbial racing pool!

Emerald Racing Club 
I definitely want to buy into this program! One question – can my family members accompany without having to use guest passes?
Family members can accompany the licensed owner into the backstretch. They must be signed in at security and the guests are the responsibility of the licensed club member. For race day passes, arrangements can be made through the Horsemen’s Liaison Office for when the horse races!
I’m going to do this but have a couple questions. Do the guest passes get guests in for the races or just the back stretch? Free admission, I’m assuming, is just for 1 person? Is there a owners club section upstairs indoors or anything like that? Thanks! Super excited!

Guest passes get your guests in on the day the horse races. Free admission is just for the licensed owner (1 person). We will be making reserved seating arrangements (based on availability) just for the Emerald Racing Club on the day the horse races. Your guests can be signed in at any time by you for access to the backstretch.
We do have special areas for our owners – boxes and Redhook Turf Club memberships, but those are all sold independently and are not included in the Emerald Racing Club.
If I want to go to an off-track betting site, will my club membership get me in to those for fee? WTBOA used to get you in for free, so just wondering about the club membership. Thanks!

We are at 47 as of today! As a licensed owner in the Emerald Racing Club you will receive free admission at our OTBs.
You’ll be at 48 as soon as you get my membership application. We won enough on a friend’s horse at Turf Paradise today to more than cover the fee.
